OUR NEW AWAY SHIRT!

We are delighted to announce the release of the Caversham United x The Amazons football shirt! This collaboration shirt will serve as our away kit for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons!
The Story
Since 2018, our kit design contest (the #CavUtdKitCompetition) has delivered year upon year but in 2026, it was time for a change.
Stemming from initial conversations back in summer 2025, the shirt has been carefully designed collaboratively - from the initial concept and mood boards, to the finished design. Caversham United player and club legend Joe Hales has been instrumental in the design process; along with club chairman Paul Gutteridge; and Matt, Chris and Elliot of The Amazons have all combined (with later input from new signings Ella and George) to create a beautiful new kit for Zons and Goats fans alike to marvel!
The AC Milan-esque red and black stripes were an ode to the band’s preferred palettes and identity (whilst navigating no all-black kits per grassroots football rules), with touches of white detail. The design boasts a subtle jaguar print throughout, a classic collar and matching cuffs, as well as the embroidered emblems of both The Amazons and Caversham United.
The kit will serve as the official away shirt for all five Caversham United adult teams during the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.
The venture will also see The Amazons will feature as the front-of-shirt sponsor for the Men’s Sunday First Team — the club’s original side from when Caversham United was formed in 2015.
Shirts are now available to pre-order via our Club Shop, with the pre-order window closing at the end of Sunday 16 August 2026.
Charity
20% of all profits from shirt sales will be donated to the fantastic registered charity Launchpad (reg no. 279859), the Reading homelessness prevention charity. Launchpad were jointly selected by Caversham United and The Amazons, following The Amazons’ Pride of Reading involvement in 2025.

SATURDAY MEN’S DEVELOPMENT TEAM LAUNCHES!

As the club prepares for the forthcoming 2026-27 season, we now expand to our biggest ever size - offering a fifth adult football side at the club through our new Men’s Development team.
The Men’s Development Team become our second Saturday football team, launching two years after the formation of our Saturday Men’s First Team. The Development Team offers player an opportunity to join Saturday football at Caversham United, without being thrown straight into the challenge of Division 1 football. The Development side forms an important part of our men’s football pathway going forward, and an important link between our junior club partners and our adult men’s football teams.
The team will be led by manager Bryn Shaffner, with support from the existing Saturday set-up. The team has already added a number of exciting players ahead of the season and that work will continue throughout the summer.
